No matter if they’re 10 years old, 10 months old, or fresh out the box, the new Mend My Manolos campaign sets forth a bold commitment to sustainability from one of the world’s most classic shoe brands. 


Manolo Blahnik’s ‘Mend My Manolos’ offers services from standard resoling and reheeling to advanced restoration so that your most beloved heels can continue in pristine condition. Partnering with the aftercare service, The Restory, the luxury footwear label pushes for a greener future in fashion by encouraging the reuse, and extension of product longevity.


‘Mend My Manolos’ is an easy 3 step process that can be done anywhere around the world! 

 

  1. Book a collection on the Manolo Blahnik website. Select a time and place that works best for pickup, and specify how many items will be sent. 

  2. A list of personalized recommendations will be offered by The Restory atelier. At that point you can review, edit, and confirm your desired services. 

  3. After they are done revitalizing your items to their former glory, the return of your manolos will be arranged by The Restory. 


Services range from 20 dollars for a stiletto reheel, to their most expensive service of personalized color swatches to dye one’s heels the perfect shade for 370 dollars, channeling an outlet of imagination through refurbishment. 


And Voila!

By incentivizing a circular flow to haute-couture fashion, ‘Mend My Manolos’ repair system means that shoe-lovers can prolong the life of their beloved heels while getting more bang for their buck. Carrie would gleam at this shoe hack given she spent over $40,000 on heels over the years of strutting down the streets of NYC. If only time machines existed, I can say with almost full certainty that Carrie would be the first in line at Blahnik’s atelier. 


Blanhnik’s avant-garde service is more than just the aftercare of these pieces, it generates a future in sustainable luxury products that simultaneously fosters a more responsible, sustainable discourse and approaches within the fashion world. There's an added bonus though! The Mend My Manolos team definitely had all the shoe-obsessed Bradshaw’s of the world in mind when starting this project! Carrie’s obsession was excessive to say the least, but her heels spoke to her personality and energized her character with every strut. Fast fashion has taken over the fashion industry in the last few years, and these low-quality garments are just not worth the time to get them hemmed, or resoled when you could just easily buy another pair. I'm worried that we are so caught up in the mass production of trends and fashion that we have forgotten it’s true essence? Fashion as an art form, where the life of clothing never dies, it is simply just reborn in different ways. 



The future of fashion, and well everything, is rooted in sustainability. And to have such a well-known brand take this environmentally friendly step on the haute-couture stage is a powerful, and inspiring message to the rest of the fashion industry and to all shoe lovers around the globe!
